Description
Build the Infrastructure That Scales
Great code means nothing if it can’t be deployed, scaled, and monitored reliably. The DevOps & Cloud Engineering Path bridges the gap between writing software and running it in production. Over 16 weeks, you’ll master the tools, practices, and mindset that modern engineering teams rely on to ship fast and stay online.
What You’ll Build
- Automated CI/CD Pipeline — A multi-stage pipeline with automated testing, security scanning, staging environments, and zero-downtime deployments
- Container Orchestration Platform — A Kubernetes cluster running microservices with auto-scaling, rolling updates, health checks, and centralized logging
- Infrastructure as Code Suite — Complete AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront) provisioned and managed entirely through Terraform
- Observability Dashboard — A monitoring stack with custom metrics, alerting rules, distributed tracing, and incident response runbooks
Curriculum Overview — 32 Modules
Foundations (Weeks 1–3): Linux command line mastery, shell scripting and automation, networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, SSL/TLS), Git advanced workflows (rebasing, cherry-picking, monorepo strategies)
Containers (Weeks 4–6): Docker from first principles, multi-stage builds and image optimization, Docker Compose for local development, container security and vulnerability scanning
Orchestration (Weeks 7–10): Kubernetes architecture and core concepts, deployments, services, and ingress, ConfigMaps, Secrets, and persistent storage, Helm charts and package management, horizontal pod autoscaling, cluster monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana
Cloud & IaC (Weeks 11–14): AWS core services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, SQS), Terraform fundamentals and state management, infrastructure modules and reusability, multi-environment management (dev, staging, production), cost optimization strategies
CI/CD & SRE (Weeks 15–16): GitHub Actions and workflow design, deployment strategies (blue-green, canary, rolling), site reliability engineering principles, incident management, SLOs/SLIs/SLAs, chaos engineering introduction
